Aerodrome

Location

The Forbes Aerodrome is located 8km west of Forbes along the Forbes-Bedgerebong Road, in a area of lightly timbered crown land. The access road from the Forbes-Bedgerebong Road is sealed. The Aerodrome site covers about 0.84 hectares. (ph 02 6852 3845)

There is a small runway (09/27) facility in the Forbes Shire, where private aircraft can land. Fees for using facility include charges for holding an Aeroplane at the airport and Landing fees that can be found in the Management Plan (link).

Runway lighting on 09/27 covers full length 1268m

Runway 09/27 has spray seal width of 18m and gravel is available to a width of 30m

Runway lighting is radio activated on a frequency of 122.4MHz

Runway elevation is 760 feet

Runway Latitude 033'021'057" South and Longitude 147'055'033" East

Radio calls. Traffic in the circuit area is encouraged to call on 125.00 MHz

NDB frequency 486 - call sign F.B.S.

The Aeroclub clubhouse is located on the southern end of the aerodrome and is accessible via the Forbes Bedgerebong Road. Facilities include licenced clubhouse and hanger sites are available. Current membership number approximately 120, position: 33? 21' 48" S, 147? 56' 06" E, Elev 760ft AMSL, CTAF 126.7

The club is both a soaring and aeroclub, and we have an affiliated parachute club which uses the tug as a jump plane. Flying of some sort is always going on!. All pilots welcome whatever they like to fly!
