Mulga Bill and Ben Hall Ride into ForbesLast modified: August 27, 2009 - 12:02 AM
Three former members of the 1970’s folk revival band, Mulga Bill’s Bicycle Band, will perform together once more at the Ben Hall Festival in Forbes this October long weekend. An Evening with Mulga Bill, Ben Hall and Pink Slip is planned as a feast of food, song, history and folklore to be held at Mezzanine Style, 23 Rankin Street, Forbes at 7pm on Saturday October 3, 2009.
The other highlight of the evening will be a conversation about the life and times of Ben Hall between relatives of the bushranger, and a noted local folklore expert. The night will also include special archival film footage sourced from episodes of the former ABC-TV series ‘A Big Country’ featuring both ‘Ben Hall’ and ‘Mulga Bill’s Bicycle Band’. Local Forbes band, Pink Slip will also perform live. Featuring the strong vocals of young emerging talents Callum and Harrison Baker, together with Harry Hayes, Pink Slip have been taking local Forbes venues by storm. Tickets are $30 each and this includes a three course traditional meal.
