In conjunction with a consultant (GHD), Council is undertaking a pedestrian and bicycle study.
Forbes Shire Council invites you to attend a workshop to discuss proposed improvements to pedestrian and cycle facilities in Forbes.
This will be an informal workshop where the consultant and Council will discuss proposed pedestrian and cycle improvements.
As this is an informal workshop, it will be run as an open forum and members of the community are invited to attend at any time during the hour to discuss proposed pedestrian and cycle improvements.
SCOPE
This study is to provide Forbes Shire Council with a local-level understanding of:
-
The existing pedestrian and cycle environment;
-
The key issues for consideration during the implementation of concept schemes and routes to improve pedestrian and cycle facilities;
-
Design strategies to provide a secure network of walking and cycling routes, catering for various user groups.
Aims of this Study
The PAMP and Bike Plan will provide an important framework for existing and future pedestrian and cyclist needs, management, use and enhancement of each town for pedestrians and cyclists.
The PAMP and Bike Plan is a strategic document that identifies the pedestrian and cyclist network in relation to an action plan for management. The overall objectives are:
-
Integrating walking and cycling into the transport system to encourage more walking and cycling; and
-
Linking pedestrian and cycle concentrations to existing facilities to improve accessibility and mobility.
